Book on training disabled entrepreneurs released


Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) Press released the sixth monograph of the MLCU Monograph Series, entitled ‘Training Persons with Disabilities as Successful Entrepreneurs’, written by Marina Bethany Marwein, at the Umsawli campus here today.

Marwein is the Dean of the School of Economics, Commerce and Management at MLCU.

The book was released at the event by the chief guest, B Warshong, Deputy Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities. During her address, she emphasised on the importance of skill and vocational training for the disabled.

The event was also attended by Carmo Noronha of Bethany Society, who spoke about the importance of valued participation and accessibility in order to achieve a state where no one is left behind. Those in attendance included the Pro Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor of MLCU along with family members of Marwein and board members, faculty, students and staff of the university.

Marwein gave a brief description about her book and its planned applications in MLCU. It presents the readers with a logical, feasible and essential learning experience to organise and promote an entrepreneurship development programme for the disabled in the Indian setting, a university press release stated. It may be used as a manual for specialised and inclusive training for any persons with a disability to be successful entrepreneurs and self-sufficient individuals supporting themselves, their families and the societies they live in.
