Marines Train on Search and Seizure > U.S. Department of Defense > Story

The 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit is known for executing amphibious operations at a moment’s notice. Marines assigned to the unit’s reconnaissance company recently conducted training raids against maritime objectives such as gas and oil platforms, ships and other offshore targets in board, search and seizure missions.

The training took place off the southern California coast and included both day and night exercises.

Marines used their skills to board vessels using caving ladders, receive simulated casualties and breach doorways. It’s all part of maritime interoperability training to prepare them for future operations with the unit.
