Senator Rosen, SBA Administrator Guzman Celebrate Official Grand Opening of Nevada’s Veterans Business Outreach Center

LAS VEGAS, NV – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), a member of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, and Administrator Isabel Casillas Guzman, head of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), were joined by members of the Nevada Congressional delegation in a ribbon cutting and official grand opening of the first-ever in-state Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC) in Nevada.
Despite being home to over 200,000 veterans and more than 23,000 veteran-owned small businesses, Nevada has been without a dedicated, in-state VBOC. Earlier this year, Senator Rosen urged the SBA to establish the first-ever in-state VBOC in Nevada.
“Nevada is home to a large community of veteran entrepreneurs, and I’m committed to delivering the resources and support they need to start or grow a business,” said Senator Rosen. “I’m proud to have worked with the Small Business Administration to establish this first Veterans Business Outreach Center located in Nevada, and I’ll keep fighting to support veterans and service members as they transition to civilian life.”

With this VBOC, veterans and military families in Nevada will have broadened access to the resources they need to start and grow flourishing businesses. I’m grateful to Senator Rosen for her steadfast leadership for veterans in Nevada and her partnership with the SBA as we work to support veteran entrepreneurs who call the Silver State home.”
Senator Rosen has been a leader in the Senate supporting Nevada’s veterans and servicemembers as they transition to civilian life. Earlier this month, she helped introduce the bipartisan Hire Student Veterans Act to incentivize employers to hire student veterans for part-time work and paid internships. Senator Rosen has also introduced bipartisan legislation to create a new startup tax credit to help veterans who establish small businesses in underserved communities. Additionally, Senator Rosen has introduced bipartisan legislation to create, maintain, and operate Student Veteran Centers at universities and colleges across the nation to help student veterans transition from military service to civilian life.
