A recent celebration commemorated the 45th anniversary of the New Jersey Small Development Business Center‘s collaboration with New Jersey City University, a milestone that coincided with the ribbon-cutting and opening ceremony for the office’s new campus location.

Program highlights:
  • Partnering with JPMorgan Chase to present “First Fridays,” a series focused on all things small business, including how to finance and gain access to capital
  • The New Jersey Restaurant Owners Roundtable initiative, an internal program to provide customized workshops, training, resources and support to restaurants in the area;
  • The Veteran Business Outreach Center, which will serve as a resource hub for active-duty personnel and veteran entrepreneurs
  • The Business Accelerator program, which is partnering with TG Capital and the businesses of Hudson County and beyond

On Feb. 24, NJCU said local and statewide political leaders, community partners and university officials came together for the Feb. 14 event at the NJCU School of Business, which is based at 200 Hudson St. at Jersey City’s Harborside 2 property.

According to the announcement, the new digs offer a modern space and convenient access for people wishing to use the NJSBDC’s services.

The office was previously housed at 285 W. Side Ave.

During the ceremony, NJCU said New Jersey State Assemblyman Raj Mukherji, D-33rd District, and deputy speaker and deputy parliamentarian, presented an Assembly Commendation on behalf of the state, honoring the NJSBDC at the NJCU School of Business.

As it continues to grow in the new space, NJSBDC at the NJCU School of Business will offer workshops, seminars and training, in addition to no cost one-on-one counseling for small- and medium-sized businesses, minority-owned businesses, women entrepreneurs, veteran business owners, and LGBTQ-owned businesses in the community, NJCU said.
