Funding for start-ups down 40% in first half of 2023

New figures collated by TechIreland show 112 companies raised a total of €460m in the January to June period

Funding for Irish tech companies collapsed in the first half of the year, with a 40 per cent decline, new figures show.

Total funding raised during the first six months totalled €460 million, as against €746 million for the same period a year earlier.

However, the number of companies that secured funding rose to 112 start-ups, compared to 91 a year earlier.
