The First-Ever Disability Expo in PH Is Happening This December—Here’s What to Expect


In a significant step towards improving disability inclusion in the workplace, non-profit organization Project Inclusion Network is set to host the Philippines’ first-ever disability expo this coming December 9 & 10, 2023 at SM Megatrade Hall 1.

Entitled the Manulife Philippine Disability Expo 2023, this groundbreaking event is dedicated to breaking down the barriers faced by persons with disabilities by creating a space where they can showcase their talents, skills, and contributions to society. The expo will feature job fairs, products and businesses for and by persons with disabilities and special talks and workshops catered to persons with disabilities and their loved ones. 

Free Admission For All Persons With Disabilities 

Thanks to its generous title sponsor, The Manulife Philippine Disability Expo will be FREE for all persons with disabilities and only Php150 for non-pwds. The ticket to the expo serves as a raffle entry to raffle prizes worth over Php100,000 and a grand prize of 2 round trip tickets to any domestic destination by Cebu Pacific.

Job Opportunities, Government Services 

Companies with workplace inclusivity initiatives will be present at the expo to conduct job fairs such as Manulife, Bayer and Nestle. Likewise, government agencies such as SSS and several Persons with Disability Affairs Offices (PDAO) of local LGUs will be present to provide assistance to persons with disabilities during the event. 

Products and Services FOR and BY Persons with Disabilities 

This event will also be a launchpad for disabled entrepreneurs and their products or services and products that are beneficial for Persons with Disabilities. 

Establishments owned and operated by persons with disabilities or those with products and services catering to persons with disabilities will be present during the expo such as Sherlock Cafe, Visma Multi Purpose Cooperative, non-profit software provider Benets and Benilde SDEAS, one of the leading deaf education institutions in the country. Disability associations such as Resources For The Blind will also be showcasing their advocacies as well as other companies showcasing their inclusive products. 

Expert Talks, Workshops, and Other Activities 

Expo-goers are also in for a treat in the form of fun and educational activities. The line-up for this event includes a painting workshop by Vico’s Artism Gallery, a talk on workplace inclusivity by Project Inclusion Executive Director Grant Javier, a fireside chat with Karen Davila and son David, a talent show for persons with disabilities entitled “Ma-Abilidad” and some surprise physical and wellness activities. 

The Project Inclusion Network is a non-profit organization aiming to improve the rights and opportunities for Persons with Disabilities in the country.
