Behind the Scenes of My Pampas Christmas Tree!

I am over the moon to share that my Pampas Grass Christmas Tree has been featured in Real Simple’s 21 Creative Ways to Decorate Your Christmas Tree This Season! Today, I want to take you behind the scenes, giving you dolls an exclusive look at how I crafted this dreamy creation in my cozy New York City apartment.

A Half Christmas Tree to Save Space

Living in New York City means space is a precious commodity, and I wanted a Christmas tree that was as unique as it was space-efficient. Enter my “half tree” concept – a tree that stands against the wall, taking up only half the space of a traditional tree, and guess what? No one even noticed!

Choose Florals with Meaning

Working alongside the incredible team at 1800Flowers, I brought to life a floral Christmas tree that’s not only visually stunning but also holds deep symbolic meaning. This pampas grass tree is adorned with various dried flowers, each carrying its own special significance. For example, sage is incorporated to banish negativity, eucalyptus for healing vibes, and the star of the show, pampas, symbolizing resilience and creativity.

Creating your own pampas tree is a delightful DIY project. You can opt for the hands-on approach using a styrofoam core and branches, or for those who prefer a shortcut, you can find beautiful options on Etsy.

Be Responsible

However, it’s crucial to note that real pampas grass is considered invasive in some states, such as California. Before diving into this project, be sure to do your homework and ensure you’re using materials responsibly.

I came up with the idea for this unconventional Christmas tree during an unconventional holiday season– if your holidays are feeling different this year, I understand you can read more about my journey here. Despite it all, this journey has been an absolute joy, and I’m thrilled to share it with you.

Let’s continue spreading love and creativity this holiday season. If you decide to embark on your own Pampas Christmas Tree adventure, tag me on your instagram stories @ceceolisa – I’d love to see your unique twists on this festive trend!

Sending you all the love and festive vibes,
