The second part of Gyeongseong Creature will be premiered today on Netflix. Ahead of the premiere, Netflix has treated fans to an exclusive peek into the gripping narrative. The revelation includes previously unseen stills from Part 1, shedding light on the desperate fight for survival at Ongseong Hospital and hinting at a tantalising evolution in Tae Sang’s character.

Stills show Park Seo Joon’s determination at Ongseong hospital

In the unreleased stills from Part 1, the relentless battle for survival at Ongseong Hospital takes centre stage. Park Seo Joon’s portrayal of Tae Sang showcases unwavering determination as he risks his life to rescue Chae Ok (Han So Hee) and others. Director Jung Dong Yoon recognises this pivotal moment as a transformative experience for Tae Sang. The tragedy unfolding in the hospital’s basement, driven by greed, is hinted at through the intricate drawings of artist Sachimoto that adorn an entire wall.

A new monster emerges in Part 2

Part 2 promises the emergence of another monster as new stills depict Maeda, played by Suhyun, examining a bottle containing a parasitic organism. Writer Kang Eun Kyung delves into Maeda’s character, describing her complex driven by a desire for acknowledgement and the impact it has on the drama’s dramatic twists.

The stills also highlight the evolving romance between Tae Sang and Chae Ok. Both actors shared insights into their characters’ journeys, with Park Seo Joon focusing on Tae Sang’s empathy and transformation, while Han So Hee detailed how Tae Sang becomes an integral part of Chae Ok’s world.

What do we know about Gyeongseong Creature?

Gyeongseong Creature is directed by Jung Dong Yoon. She has previously helmed the hit workplace sports drama Hot Stove League. The screenplay of the series is written by Kang Eun Kyun, who is known for writing What Happens to My Family, Where Stars Land, and the Dr. Romantic series.

Aside from Han So Hee and Park Seo Joon, Gyeongseong Creature will also feature Wi Ha Joon Jo Han Chul, Soo Hyun, Kim Hae Sook, and others in supporting roles. Meanwhile, the series has been renewed for a second season. In November 2023, Netflix said in a statement that the move “proves an immense amount of confidence in the production, further raising anticipation for the upcoming thriller”.
