RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The National Resources Development Council is “building the nation’s first accelerator for granting funds for Black and minority women-owned businesses.” At the end of the month, they are organizing a symposium in Reno called “Changing the 1%,” and educating local entrepreneurs on the future of accessing grant funding with A.I. Though this event is open to everyone, it is specifically geared toward business women of color.
Nevada Assemblywoman, Dr. Angie Taylor, is the event’s keynote speaker. She is also a small business owner herself and runs the company, Guardian Quest, Inc. She stopped by Morning Break Wednesday to share what “changing the 1%” means and how this event benefits female and minority business owners specifically.
