Marines, Sailors Keep Cool in Arctic Temps > U.S. Department of Defense > Story

Marines and sailors built shelters, made fires and trekked through Arctic terrain in Setermoen, Norway, as part of cold weather training to prepare for Nordic Response, a NATO exercise.

U.S. troops will join about 10,000 participants from more than a dozen countries for the land portion of the exercise in March. The exercise is designed to enhance military capabilities and allied cooperation in high-intensity warfighting in a challenging Arctic environment.
