Black Business Focus Group, LLC Responds to U.S. Department of Commerce Request For Information on Business Diversity Principles


Black Business Focus Group, LLC, a leading advocate for Black-owned businesses, has submitted a comprehensive response to the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Request For Information (RFI) seeking public input on the draft Business Diversity Principles (BDP). These principles aim to shape best practices related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) in the private sector.

The Department of Commerce has solicited comments from various stakeholders, including private sector employers, workers, subject matter experts, and civil rights advocates, with the goal of refining the Business Diversity Principles and fostering equitable economic growth.

The RFI, open until February 3rd, 2024, emphasizes the importance of DEIA initiatives in line with Executive Orders signed by President Biden, focusing on racial equity and support for underserved communities.

Business Opportunities: The group calls for the creation of an inclusive supply chain, investment in mentorship programs, and the facilitation of access to capital for entrepreneurs from underserved communities.

Community Investment: Black Business Focus Group stresses the importance of community-focused initiatives, including scholarships, incubator programs, and measurable goals to track success.
