CHF offers grants for startups in Arunachal

ITANAGAR, Aug 04: Pasighat-based College of Horticulture & Forestry (CHF) distributed grants-in-aid to selected startups of RKVY-RAFTAAR of Arunachal Pradesh here on Wednesday.

The grants-in-aid was given under its R-ABI, an agri-horticulture innovation hub and agri-business incubation centre, supported and funded by Rashtriya Krishi Vikash Yojana – Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture & Allied Sector Rejuvenation (RKVY-RAFTAAR) of Union Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Ministry, CHF assistant manager Evie Koyu said.

Three of the selected eight took the cheques from CHF dean Dr B N Hazarika in presence of NABARD officer and all domains coordinating co-pi of RKVY-RAFTAAR, CHF faculty members, KVK and RKVY-RAFTAAR staff here Wednesday during the interface programme while Imphal DEE had joined virtually, she informed over telephone, adding the recipients included Kolpi Dai founder of ESEM Organic LLP for vermicompos, Niku Prasad Saha founder of Green Gables LLP for post harvest technology and Bombi Riba founder of Karko Ao LLP for mushrrom.

Students/youth/individual having an innovative idea could apply for agriculture orientation programme (AOP) and the selected interns on successful completion of their internship training will be eligible to apply for pre-seed fund/subsistence grant up to Rs five lakh per startup for converting their ideas into prototype/products.

However, agri-horti business startups having minimum viable product based on their innovative business ideas in agri-horti & allied sector could apply for seed stage funding to get grants-in-aid up to Rs 25 lakh, she added.
