In the not-so-distant past (2015, to be exact), same-sex marriage was illegal in some U.S. states. And even in the seemingly progressive glow of the present, true equality doesn’t fully shine on the LGBTQ community. In 2024 alone, over 500 anti-LGBTQ bills were brought forth for state’s consideration, according to a tally by American Civil Liberties Union.

Let the month of June serve as a stark reminder to listen to LGBTQ voices, to hear the experiences of those brave enough to live as their true selves and to celebrate queer love.
