Seminar to Offer Assistance to East Palestine Businesses

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown Business Incubator, Minority Business Assistance Center and Valley Partners are offering their services to small and minority businesses in East Palestine that are recovering from the Feb. 3 train derailment.

A Small Business Growth, Expansion, and Accessing Capital seminar is scheduled from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 7 at the Columbiana County Port Authority office in Lisbon. During the seminar, each organization will explain how their services can meet each business’s needs.

Business owners must register HERE by Nov. 6.

“We want small businesses to know that we are here to work tirelessly on their behalf to obtain the funding needed for their business to not only survive, but thrive and flourish,” said Teresa Miller, executive director of Valley Partners. “Our team at Valley Partners combines our economic development expertise with our specialized flexible lending solutions to stimulate growth in the local economy.”

Between the YBI, MBAC and Valley Partners, the services available to small and minority business owners range from small business counseling, tech enabling programs and advanced manufacturing technology adoption programs. 

“It’s incumbent on our entire region to help the citizens and businesses of East Palestine continue on their path to recovery,” said Barb Ewing, CEO of the YBI. “I hope that we’re able to help lift our neighbors over this hurdle.”
